Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former Indian wicketkeeper and two-time World Cup-winning captain, has remained a prominent figure in cricket even after retiring from international play.
Although the former India captain has retired from international cricket, MS Dhoni remains a central and popular figure among the Indian faithful. Dhoni is still active in professional cricket as he is still playing in the Indian Premier League.

Despite his immense popularity, the 43-year-old has consistently distanced himself from politics. Rumors have surfaced over the years about his potential political ambitions, but Dhoni has chosen to focus on his cricketing endeavors, including his ongoing IPL career with the Chennai Super Kings.
In a recent interview, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla shared his perspective on Dhoni's potential in politics. Speaking to BeerBiceps on YouTube, Shukla confirmed that the legendary player can be an adept politician.
"I feel Dhoni can become a politician. It is up to him, if he will become a politician or not. Sourav, I always felt he would enter Bengal politics. Dhoni can also be good in politics. He will win easily, he is popular. I don't know if he will enter politics, it is purely in his hands," Shukla said.
Shukla also recounted a conversation with Dhoni, saying, "I asked him once that I heard that he was going to contest for Lok Sabha seat, he said 'No, no, no'."
Dhoni's enduring popularity and enigmatic presence continue to captivate fans around the world. His decision to remain apolitical adds to his unique persona, setting him apart from many other public figures.
Numerous former India players have joined politics in the past but Dhoni's current stance to stay away from politics may be the way to move forward for the legendary player, which preserves the respect and love among the netizens.
