Will MS Dhoni retire after IPL 2024? NO! The revelation has been made by none other than his childhood friend Paramjit Singh. MS Dhoni will turn 43 this year in July but he is showing no signs of wearing out, and has got the backing of his friend to play a couple of more seasons.
Despite losing his old spark with the bat, the former India captain was at his brutal best in the end overs for his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024. He scored 104 runs at an average of 26 and a strike rate of 182.45 to give his team strong finishes.

Dhoni led CSK to their fifth title win last year, and when asked by Harsha Bhogle about his retirement plans, he made it clear that he would be definitely returning for the next season as a tribute to his fans who showered immense love at all the venues the Yellow Army played their matches.
The talismanic leader immediately underwent a knee surgery after the IPL 2023 final to successfully recover on time for the seventeenth edition. His friend Paramjit Singh has asserted that Dhoni is fit enough to last a couple of more seasons.
"I do not think this will be his (Dhoni's) last season. He is still fit. I think he will play one or two more seasons. He will definitely play one more season. The reason is he is fit," he told OneCricket.
Recently, MS Dhoni won hearts by advertising Paramjit Singh's sports shop in Ranchi. The right-hand wicketkeeper-batter was seen practicing with a 'Prime Sports' sticker on his bat.
A player of Dhoni stature can easily end up making crores for putting a company sticker on his bat, but he himself volunteered for the gesture free of cost. He was praised for showing true spirit of friendship in a world where such values are now rare.
"I'm feeling very proud! MS has always been there with us, that's our friendship. He's given me his signed bat," Paramjit said in a video uploaded by Sports Tak.
The first batch of CSK players including Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar have arrived in Chennai are participating in the pre-season camp. Dhono was recently spotted in Jamnagar alongside his wife Sakshi for the pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
