MS Dhoni's heart-warming 'all the way from India' gesture to Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni in a heart-warming gesture has sent his signed jersey all the from India to Afghanistan for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Gurbaz took to his Instagram handle to share the picture of him posing with the prized number seven jersey. "Thanks MS Dhoni sir for sending the gift all the way from India," Gurbaz has captioned the picture.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has also shared the picture on his Instagram Story with a 'Respect' GIF placed on it. Gurabaz was part of the KKR squad in the IPL 2023. In the 11 matches he played for KKR, the 21-year-old scored 227 runs in 11 matches at an average of 25.66 and a strike rate of 158.21.

IPL players getting their jersey signed and asking MS Dhoni for his jersey has become a common sight in the last two seasons of the cash-rich league. However, it's the first instance of Dhoni sending his signed jersey to a player outside India.

The last two editions of the IPL have been full of speculations over MS Dhoni's retirement from the T20 tournament. The players have used each and every opportunity to get memorabilia from the talismanic captain.

Dhoni, who led CSK to their record-equalling fifth IPL title last month, has quashed all the retirement rumours and expressed his desire to play at least one more season for his fans who showered him with immense love in the last two seasons.
