Multan Sultans are seen as the favourite to title as they took the direct route to final by winning the qualifier with comfortable ease after topping the league stages. Islamabad United, on the other hand, took the inroads by winning both the eliminators.

Following a month of thrilling Twenty20 play, the PSL 2024 has reached its championship match. Against Islamabad United, the 2018 winners, Multan Sultans, the previous two-time finalists and champions, will try to recover the cherished trophy.

Nevertheless, Islamabad United stunned the Peshawar team on Saturday, March 16, with a fantastic reversal, after defeating the Quetta Gladiators by the same margin. Usman Khan is the only player with two century to his credit and has scored 373 runs in six innings. Only Babar Azam has scored more runs in this year's competition than Mohammad Rizwan, who has amassed 381 runs overall in the group stage. This season, Usama Mir has taken the most wickets with 23 in 11 games. Throughout the campaign, David Willey has been reliable and frugal with 14 wickets in 10 games.

For Islamabad, Martin Guptill is turning out to be a godsend. He played crucial knocks of 34 and 56 in quick succession. Agha Salman has been on fire for Islamabad United, amassing 300 runs in just 11 innings. Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad, has performed admirably all around.
