In response, skipper Mohammad Rizwan continued from where he left against Qalandars (75) as he scored 28 not out in the chase but it was Rilee Rossouw, who went after Gladiators bowling and scored 42-ball 78 at No. 3 and sealed a nine-wicket win for the Sultans.

Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, have played just one game this season and won it as well against Karachi Kings by a margin of a run. The contest saw Babar Azam start his captaincy at the franchise with a 68-run knock while Tom-Kohler Cadmore packed a powerful 50-ball 92.

Apart from the duo, likes of Mohammad Haris, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Saim Ayyub couldn't perform with the bat and could be the cause of worry for Azam in the matches to come.

Jimmy Neesham had an all-round show as he scored an 11-ball 16 down the order before taking 2/26 on a surface that provided nothing for the bowlers. Pacer Wahab Riaz was productive too with a spell of 2/34.
