
Mumbai Indians have unveiled the official playing kit for the upcoming WPL tournament on Saturday (February 25).
Designed by Monisha Jaisingh, the iconic MI Blue & Gold colour scheme, gets a dash of coral, inspired by the remarkable coastline of Mumbai, the spectacular sunset and the powerful energy from the rays of the sun.
The Mumbai Indians are one of the five franchise teams that will be taking part in the inaugural season of the WPL. Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to lead the side while there are a few other big names in their ranks as well.
England batter Nat Sciver-Brunt is on their side while Pooja Vastrakar, Yastika Bhatia are among the Indian contingent in their team. MI also roped in South African all-rounder Chloe Tryon, who will be representing her country in the Women's T20 World Cup final on Sunday.
The WPL starts on March 4 and will continue till March 26. All the matches of the first season will be played in Mumbai. The MI side are also going to play the historical first match of the WPL, as they will take on Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium.
