Fans have accused Ajit Agarkar-led Team India selection panel for ignoring Rinku Singh by not picking him for the West Indies T20Is and siding with players from the 'Mumbai lobby'.
A 15-member squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against West Indies from August 3, was picked by newly-appointed India chief selector Ajit Agarkar and four others in the selection committee on Tuesday.

Tilak Varma who represents Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL and Yashasvi Jaiswal got their maiden India T20I call-up as Rinku Singh fell behind in the pecking order. Varma, also a middle-order and left-hand batter like Rinku, scored 343 runs in 11 matches at an average of 42.87 and a strike rate of 164.11.
Rinku Singh was also in red-hot form in the IPL 2023, scoring 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52. Both the players were backed by former greats to be called into India's T20I setup. While Tilak has been inducted into the squad, 25-year-old Rinku has been ignored.
Livid fans have taken to Twitter to slam BCCI and the selection for 'robbing' Rinku the opportunity to become an India player. Here are a few reactions.
