Musheer Khan recently survived a severe car accident while en route to join the Mumbai team for the Irani Cup. The accident occurred as he was travelling from Azamgarh to Lucknow with his father, Naushad Khan.
Their vehicle collided with a divider and overturned several times, resulting in Musheer sustaining a neck fracture. This injury will sideline him for several months, affecting his participation in upcoming matches.

It came as a shock to the entire country but luckily, the father and son both escaped serious life-threatening injuries in the crash. And the Mumbai player broke silence for the first time since the accident.
Musheer expressed his gratitude to those who supported him during this challenging time. In a video shared on Instagram, he stated, "First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me, he is also fine now. I would like to thank you all for your prayers."
He appeared in the video with a bandage around his neck, indicating the seriousness of his injury.
Naushad Khan, Musheer's father, also shared his thoughts in the same video. He said, "Good evening, first of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for this new life. I would also like to thank all those people who have prayed for us - well-wishers, friends, and relatives. I am very thankful to all of them."
Naushad went on to thank MCA and BCCI for their continued support and clarified that the youngster will now be looked after by the cricketing bodies until complete recovery.
The injury is a significant setback for Musheer, who was set to be part of India A's tour of Australia later this year. His impressive performance in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 181 runs for India B against India A, had earned him this opportunity. Unfortunately, his recovery will prevent him from participating in both the Irani Cup and the India A tour.
Once discharged from Medanta hospital in Lucknow, Musheer is expected to undergo further medical evaluation in Mumbai. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has yet to announce a replacement for Musheer in the Irani Cup squad led by Ajinkya Rahane.
