The ICC World Cup 2023 is done and dusted. Australia stunned India with a six-wicket win in the World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
The 48 matches played in the tournament were highly engaging and entertaining. Not just the cricketing powerhouses, but the lower-ranked teams also punched above their weight to make the right noise. The Netherlands defeated South Africa, Afghanistan defeated England and Pakistan, and almost got the better of Australia.

Not just the teams, the players also lit up the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with their superlative performances. Those who shone at the biggest stage possible in world cricket have etched their names in the history books already.
Shortlisting the top eleven players to name the ICC World Cup 2023 Team Of The Tournament or the World Cup 2023 best combined eleven is one difficult task. However, MyKhel team has done its best to name the World Cup 2023 Team of the Tournament.
Rohit Sharma (C): The Indian captain led from the front by playing extremely attacking cricket in the powerplay overs. His innings laid the foundation stone for Indian wins. He finished as the second-highest run-scorer of World Cup 2023. He scored 597 runs in 11 matches at an average of 54.27 and a strike rate of 125.94.
Travis Head: A hundred in his first match after returning from injury, and a hundred in the final. Travis Head was named Man of the Match in the semi-final and the final. In six matches, the opener scored 329 runs in six matches at an average of 54.83 and a strike rate of 127.51. He plays the role of third spinner in the team.
Virat Kohli: World Cup 2023 Man of the Tournament is our undisputed number three batter. Virat Kohli scored 765 runs in 11 matches at an average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.31.
KL Rahul (WK): Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul registered 17 dismissals behind the stumps and scored 452 runs in 11 matches at an average of 75.33 and a strike rate of 90.76. He adjusted himself perfectly as per the conditions and delivered when India needed the most. The technically sound batter is our number four.
David Miller: The inclusion of South Africa star David Miller gives the team a very good left-hand batting option. The experience Miller brings with him is priceless and his electric fielding is just an add on. He hit a sensational hundred in the semi-final on an extremely difficult Eden Gardens batting surface. He scored 356 runs in 10 matches at an average of 44.50 and a strike rate of 107.87.
Glenn Maxwell: The 'Big Show' was at his best in all the three departments of the game. 400 runs in nine matches at an average of 66.66 and a strike rate of 150.37, and six wickets at an economy rate of 4.81, tells the impact Glenn Maxwell had on the World Cup 2023. His double hundred is now arguably the best knock in ODI cricket history. Maxwell also plays the role of the second spinner in the team.
Marco Jansen: Ravindra Jadeja had to be overlooked to include Marco Jansen in ICC Cricket WorldCup 2023 Team of the Tournament. Jansen provides an excellent left-arm pace bowling option. He picked 17 wickets in nine matches. The lanky cricketer also scored 157 runs at an average of 31.40 and a strike rate of 110.56.
Jasprit Bumrah: No ODI team at the moment could be complete without Jasprit Bumrah. His ability to bowl at any stage of the game, makes him unique. The 29-year-old picked 20 wickets at an average of 18.65 and an economy rate of 4.06.
Mohammed Shami: The highest wicket-taker of World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami was sensational in the World Cup 2023. He did not feature in the first four matches. The remaining seven matches saw him pick 24 wickets at an average of 10.70.
Adam Zampa: The most successful spinner in the World Cup 2023, Adam Zampa picked a wicket less than Shami. His bowling average and economy rates were an impressive 22.39 and 5.36 respectively.
Josh Hazlewood: A bowler like Josh Hazlewood is as important as Jasprit Bumrah in the line-up. His ability to bowl consistently in one channel irritates batters who are forced to make mistakes. The Australian star picked 16 wickets at an average of 28.06 and a strike rate of 4.81.
