Group B’s Associate nation teams, Namibia and Oman open their group stage campaign in match 3 of T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday (June 2).
Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia and Aqib Ilyas’ Oman are set for their third T20 World Cup appearance. The two teams are in a group that includes two recent champions England and Australia as well as another minnow in Scotland.

In their previous 2 T20 World Cup appearances, Namibia reached the Super 12 stage in 2021 after finishing second in group that included Sri Lanka, Ireland and Netherlands. They, however, only won once in the Super 12s. In 2022, Namibia exited from the first round group stage.
Oman, on the other hand, bowed out in the first round group stage in their two previous T20 World Cup appearance, winning only twice – once in 2016 vs Ireland and once in 2021 vs Papua New Guinea.
Namibia and Oman, who have crossed paths in the last few days, will be fighting in reality for third place in a tough group.
