Nanavati to hear Sree-Bhajji spat on May 9

By Staff
Ahmedabad, May 9: Three days after watching the footage of Sreesanth-Harbhajan row, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)-appointed Commissioner Sudhir Nanavati will hear Sreesanth-Harbhajan spat today.

Both the players have confirmed to appear before Nanavati, a lawyer. After watching the footage of the incident that took place after an Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab on April 25, Ahmedabad-based lawyer Nanavati was shocked. He had seen the footage at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai with IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi, Board Secretary Niranjan Shah and Joint Secretary M P Pandove on May 6.

Harbhajan has been banned from rest of the IPL matches and was also fined after found guilty of slapping Sreesanth.

Nanavati is expected to submit his final inquiry report after today's hearing to BCCI President Sharad Pawar on Monday, who will refer it to the committee to decide about the action to be taken against the players. Nanavati was appointed under the Rule 32 of the BCCI under which the BCCI President has the power to name a commissioner to assist the disciplinary committee.
