Narendra Modi to Harbhajan Singh - Twitter (X) hail Indian Women's Blind Cricket Team after Gold in IBSA Games

A piece of history has been etched as the Indian Women's Blind Cricket team won the inaugural IBSA Games after beating Australia in the Final.

The visually impaired warrior girls of India scripted a monumental achievement as they toppled the Aussies in the Gold medal clash in the rain-curtailed finals of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023.

In the finals, India successfully restricted Australia to a score of 114/8 in the allotted 20 overs. The Indian bowlers showcased excellent skills and kept the Australian batsmen under pressure.

After the rain, chasing a revised target of 42 runs, India confidently achieved victory in just four overs. The Indian batters displayed great determination and skill to secure an emphatic win over Australia.

After this outstanding achievement, the Indian women's blind cricket team has won hearts. They remain undefeated, securing victories in all their league games.

And as the country has hailed the champions, many eminent personalities including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the women's cricket team for their victory.

"Kudos to the Indian women's blind cricket team for winning the Gold at the IBSA World Games! A monumental achievement that exemplifies the indomitable spirit and talent of our sportswomen. India beams with pride!," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh also congratulated the Indian women's team after their Gold.

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, who is known for his keen following of sports, took to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter to congratulate the Indian women's team.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla also sent his congratulations after India's historic Gold.
