Naseem Shah underwent a successful shoulder surgery on Wednesday, October 5 and thanked his fans for their support post the injury which ruled him out of the World Cup 2023.
The 20-year-old pacer reserved himself on the reserve day of India vs Pakistan Super Fours match at the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. The right-arm fast bowler could not complete his tenth and had to walk off the field. He did not come out to bat and was subsequently ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023.

The scan results in Dubai showed the nature of injury was more serious than expected, ruling him out of the World Cup 2023 as well. Hasan Ali replaced Naseem Shah in Pakistan's World Cup 2023.
The youngster posted a video of him on X handle and asked his fans to keep him in their prayers. He also urged the fans to support the Pakistan team which will kick off their campaign against Netherlands on Friday.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm recovering well. Your prayers and well wishes have been my strength. Thank you all for your support," he wrote on X.
Naseem Shah's manager also shared the update and mentioned that the fast bowler is in high spirits after the minor shoulder surgery.
"Naseem Shah is in good spirits after minor procedure on his shoulder. Please remember him in your prayers. He will be in action soon inshallah. #NaseemShah #cwc23 @iNaseemShah," he wrote on X.
Naseem Shah is likely to remain out of action for three to four months and could miss Pakistan's tour of Australia for a 3-Test in December-January. He might also miss the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024.
