Naveen-ul-Haq's cracking reply to former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020 has gone viral following his on-field altercation with Virat Kohli in IPL 2023 on Monday.
It all started in the 17th over of the low-scoring thriller between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Naveen and Kohli started to have a go at each other as Amit Mishra tried to defuse the tension before later being himself dragged into the entire episode.

The 23-year-old youngster came face-to-face with Kohli for the second time during the ceremonial handshake post RCB's 18-run win. RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell had to intervene this time. Later, Naveen was seen declining his LSG captain KL Rahul's invite to talk the matter out with Kohli.
This is not the first instance of Naveen getting into on-field altercation with senior and star cricketers. During the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in 2020, the Afghanistan pacer was involved in an intense war of words with Amir.
Later, Shahid Afridi, who was captaining Galle Gladiator in the match was seen scolding and advising Naveen to not get involved in abusive talk. Afridi had also rolled out a tweet after the match.
"My advise to the young player was simple, play the game and don't indulge in abusive talk. I have friends in Afghanistan team and we have very cordial relations. Respect for teammates and opponents is the basic spirit of the game," he had tweeted in reply to a video shared by Sky Sports Cricket.
Then 21-year-old Naveen had replied saying, "Always ready to take advice and give respect,Cricket is a gentleman’s game but if someone says you all are under our feet and will stay there then he is not only talking about me but also talking abt my ppl. #give #respect #take #respect."
The Kabul-born cricketer, who has played seven ODIs and 27 T20Is till date, has been fined 50 percent of match fee after the clash with Kohli.
However, he took a dig at Kohli via an Instagram Story in which he wrote, "You get what you deserve, that's how it should be and that's how it goes."
