Neo Sports to telecast Ranji Trophy live

Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) Neo Sports will start live and exclusive telecast of the Ranji Trophy 2007-2008 season for cricket enthusiasts from tomorrow.

Neo Sports, in a release here today, said the domestic first-class championship played in India will continue through the festive season right until January, showcasing untapped talent.

In the knock-out competition, teams from four zones, divided into two groups of eight and seven teams, will compete for the trophy. The division will see competition amongst the top contending cities such as Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad amongst others. The competition also includes teams that have no regional affiliations, such as Railways and Services.

Neo Sports has the telecast rights of all international cricket matches played in India till 2010 and its sister channel Neo Sports Plus the 24-hour sports entertainment television channel brings to life, action from sporting disciplines from all over the world.

On the soccer front, Neo Sports Plus has acquired properties linked to India's favourite footballing nations via premier leagues like Bundesliga and Serie A. It also has one of the best motor sports action in the form of V8 Supercars. Additionally Neo Sports Plus brings about a renewed focus to Badminton through properties like Sudirman Cup, The Thomas Cup, The Uber Cup and The World Badminton Championship, the release said.

Neo Sports is India's first Cricket TV channel and telecasts live matches played under the aegis of BCCI. This also includes domestic cricket. The channel will also showcase various cricket-related programmes, interviews with top cricketers, analysis and other shows around cricket.

The channel broadcasts on PAS 10 satellite, it added.
