Nepal Premier League 2024: Janakpur Bolts defeated the Sudurpaschim Royals by 5 wickets in the season 1 final to clinch the first-ever NPL title on Saturday, December 21 at the TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur.

After Kishore Mahato (3 for 25) and Mohammed Mohsin (3 for 40) helped restrict the favourites Sudurpaschim Royals to 184/9 in their allotted 20 overs, Lahiru Milantha (87 off 49 balls) smashed a fifty as Janakpur Bolts completed the chase with 4 balls to spare.

Sudurpaschim Royals were well on their way to posting above 200 after opting to bat first in the final and thanks to a spectacular start from their openers, but Bolts kept the scoring down in the second half of the innings by taking wickets in regular intervals.

With this Janakpur Bolts registered their first win of the season against Sudurpaschim Royals, having previously losing to the runners up in the league stage and the first qualifier.
