Sompal Kami’s Karnali Yaks had to go though an Eliminator to reach the qualifier 2. The Yaks, who just scraped through into the playoffs, defeated the Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs to get one step closer to a title clash.

The Yaks rode on Jaykishan Kolsawala and William Bosisto's fifties as well as a quick-fire unbeaten 46 off 23 balls from Chadwick Walton to post 175/6 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting the Rhinos to 154/9 in their response.

Janakpur Bolts, on the other hand, reached the Qualifier 2 after suffering an 8-wicket loss to table-toppers Sudurpaschim Royals in the first qualifier on Wednesday (December 18) in Kirtipur.

The Bolts managed to post only 139/9 in their allotted 20 overs in Qualifier 1. The target was chased down by the Royals with 9 balls to spare. Bolts were lucky as they get a second shot at making the final. They also already have a victory over the Yaks in the league stage.

The last time these two teams met in the league phase, captain Anil led from the front with an unbeaten 62 off 42 balls as the Bolts chased down 142 with eight wickets in hand and 29 balls to spare.
