Nepal Premier League 2024 Playoffs: Qualified Teams, Date, Time Table, Venue & Live Streaming Info
Inaugural edition of the Nepal Premier League - NPL 2024 is getting close to climax stage as the eight teams look to book their spots in the NPL Season 1 playoffs, which is scheduled to be held from December 18 to 21.
Like the other franchise leagues across the world, the top four will progress to the playoffs and will play respective fixtures based on where they finish in the NPL 2024 points table. Four matches will be played in the playoff stages - Eliminator, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2 and then the all important final.
The first and second placed teams will play the Qualifier 1 which gives them a second shot at making the final even if they lose as they will play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The Eliminator will feature the third and fourth placed teams.
All the four playoff games will be staged at the same venue where the entire tournament is scheduled to take place, the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Here is all you need to know about the Nepal Premier League 2024 Playoffs:
Which four teams qualified for the NPL 2024 Playoffs?
As of December 16, Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals have confirmed the top two spots in the NPL 2024 points table after earning 10 and 12 points each, while Chitwan Rhinos, on eight points, also booked their playoff spot.
Karnali Yaks beat Kathmandu Gurkhas on Net Run Rate (NRR) to seal the final playoff berth, with both teams having finished on eight points each. Yaks managed to book a berth despite defeat to Royals in the final league match on Monday (December 16).
Meanwhile Lumbini Lions, Gurkhas, Biratnagar Kings and Pokhara Avengers were the four teams that were knocked out of the competition. Here is a look at the NPL 2024 Points Table on December 16:
