Yuzvendra Chahal, after his divorce from Dhanashree Verma, opened up candidly about being wrongly labeled a "cheater" and struggling with severe mental health challenges, including suicidal thoughts.
The India player recently divorced with Dhanashree after a couple of years of their marriage. Chahal, once celebrated for his fairytale romance, found himself at the center of public scrutiny when news of his divorce broke out. Despite the harsh labels and rumors that followed him, he maintained his innocence and integrity.

"After my divorce, I was called a cheater. And I have never cheated in my life. I'm an extremely loyal person. You wouldn't even find a loyal person like me. I deeply care about my people," Chahal said at the Raj Shamani Podcast.
"When I was going through the divorce thing, people labeled me as a cheater. I have never cheated. You will not get a more loyal person than me. For my loved ones, I think from my heart. I have never asked, just given. When you don't know, you are writing. I have two sisters, I know how to respect girls," he added.
He described the emotional agony that the public slander and the end of his marriage brought upon him. The India player also revealed that he had suicidal thoughts during the utmost scrutiny.
"I had suicidal thoughts, I was tired of my life, I used to cry for 2 hours. I used to sleep just for 2 hours. It went for 40-45 days. I wanted a break from cricket... I used to share suicidal thoughts with my friend. I used to get scared," he continued.
"I was in depression for four to five months. I had anxiety attacks. Only my close ones know this. I have never shared this anywhere for sympathy. I used to have suicidal thoughts because my mind had completely stopped working".
Chahal has been playing for Northamptonshire in the county cricket and has looked in decent touch.
