New NCA to open soon as Jay Shah reveals stunning features of BCCI facility in Bengaluru

By MyKhel Staff

New National Cricket Academy (NCA) facility in Bengaluru will be opening soon, BCCI secretary Jay Shah revealed on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, August 3. The new NCA is an initiative taken by the world's richest cricket board to give the best possible environment to current and future cricketers.

Jay Shah proudly highlighted the world-class features of the new NCA in his post. There will be as many as three playing grounds and 45 practice pitches. The new BCCI faculty will also have indoor cricket pitches to help players train regardless of the weather conditions.

Further, an Olympic-size swimming pool has also been built at the new NCA. State-of-the-art training under specialised coaches and trainers, and recovery and sports science facilities to help the Indian cricketers recover swiftly from their injuries have been placed.

"Very excited to announce that the @BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru. The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities," Jay Shah's statement on X read.

"This initiative will help our nation’s current and future cricketers develop their skills in the best possible environment!" he added.

The BCCI have been making all the right noises in the last couple of months. They announced a cash prize of Rs 125 crore after the Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29.

The BCCI also issued Rs 8.5 crore to Indian Olympic Association in the lead up to the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. The financial assistance was made to help Indian athletes participating at the Games.

BCCI also released Rs 1 crore for the treatment of Anshuman Gaekwad before he passed away battling blood cancer earlier this week. The BCCI was lauded for its kind gesture towards the former India cricketer and coach.
