New Zealand 'A' to tour India from September 23

New Zealand 'A' will be coached by former pacer Shane Bond

Bengaluru, September 8: Prior to senior team's trip to India, New Zealand 'A' will tour India from September 23 to October 13.

The Kiwis will play two four-day game and five one-day matches against Rahul Dravid-coached India 'A' side.

They will play four-day matches at Vijayawada (September 23-26 and September 30 to October 3) and one-dayers at Visakhapatnam from October 6 to 13.

"It is a significant tour for New Zealand team, touring a different environment to that of our domestic cricket. Players can use this as a chance to improve their skills in the sub-continent condition and it will be a huge step forward for them in international cricket in general," Gavin Larsen, former NZ player who now is a national selector, told myKhel.com. Larsen will be the manager of the team that visits India.

The team will depart to India on September 19.

The team will be coached by Shane Bond, former Kiwi fast bowler. "It is a fine opportunity for the players. They can learn about a lot on this tour on the challenges of international cricket in India. Personally, it is a great opportunity for me to guide a team full of fine talents," said Bond.

New Zealand 'A' Squad: Henry Nicholls (Capt), Todd Astle, Tom Blundell, Tom Bruce, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Scott Kuggeleijn, Colin Munro, Glenn Phillips, Seth Rance, Jeet Raval, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, Sean Solia, George Worker, Will Young.

The schedule: 1st four-fay match: September 23-26, Vijayawada.

2nd four-day match: September 30-October 3, Vijayawada.

One-dayers (All at Visakhapatnam):

October 6, October 8, October 10, October 13, October 15,
