New Zealand and Australia will prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024 with a three-match T20I series, which is scheduled to be held across two venues from Wednesday (February 21) to Sunday (February 25).

Both teams will be playing their second T20I series this year. New Zealand head into the series fresh from a 4-1 home series win over Pakistan, while Australia are fresh from a 2-1 home series win against West Indies. Both teams, however, lost their most recent T20 outings.

As for team news, New Zealand will be led by Mitchell Santner in Kane Williamson's absence, and will also be without the services of all-rounder Daryl Mitchell for the three-match series. All-rounder Rachin Ravindra returns to side, while Josh Clarkson is likely to make his debut.

Experienced pacer Trent Boult has also been recalled with the T20 World Cup in mind. Boult will partner the likes of Tim Southee, Ben Sears, Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne in the pace department.

The batting unit will be made up of Will Young, Ravindra, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Finn Allen and Devon Conway, while Santner will lead the spin attack that also includes Ish Sodhi.

Australia, on the other hand, will be led by Mitchell Marsh despite the return of Pat Cummins, hinting the potential captain for the upcoming World Cup in June. Cummins returns to the side alongside Mitchell Starc and Travis Head.

Meanwhile, Spencer Johnson also has been added to the pace bowling attack that also includes Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Ellis alongside Starc and Cummins. Matt Short and Glenn Maxwell will be the two spin bowling all-rounders alongside specialist spinner Adam Zampa.

The visitors batting unit will be made up of David Warner, Steve Smith and Tim David with Josh Inglis and Matthew Wade being named as the two wicketkeeping options for the series.
