Sri Lanka will be taking on New Zealand in an all-format assignment that starts next month.
The Lankans will be playing 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against the Kiwis down under. The one-month-long tour will be starting on March 4 with a warm-up match, followed by the Test series which starts on March 9.
Sri Lanka are currently sitting 3rd in the World Test Championship table and have a slim chance of making it to the final. For that, they will have to win both Tests against New Zealand and India will have to win the remaining Test matches against Australia.
This will be the first international assignment for the Lankans after their India tour at the start of this calendar year. New Zealand, on the other side, are currently playing a Test series against England and they will be right in the thick of it again as the Sri Lanka series starts soon. The Kiwis are already out of contention in the WTC. This will also be their first Test affair after 2019.
The Lankans will be aiming to get back to winning ways after their limited-overs struggle against India. They lost both the ODI and T20I series and will be eyeing to turn things around against the Blackcaps.
