New Zealand vs Sri Lanka World Cup 2023 match 41 is set to take place on Thursday (November 9) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where rain has created flood-like situation in several parts of the city.

The last World Cup 2023 outing at the venue on Saturday (November4), was truncated due to bad weather and eventually called off due to persistent rains during the closing stages, costing New Zealand the match against Pakistan by Duckworth Lewis Stern (DLS) Method.

With a sketchy weather being forecast again and no reserve day in store for the round robin matches, New Zealand will hope there is no similar outcome or a wash out as they need a win to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the semifinals.

The Blackcaps are locked in a tight race with Pakistan and Afghanistan for the last semifinal spot. All three sides are currently on eight points, but New Zealand have a better Net Run Rate. Hence, they currently occupy the fourth spot.

Afghanistan will face South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday (November 10), while Pakistan will meet England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday (November 11).

Although there is forecast for rain, the good drainage system at the venue may allow for match to resume quickly if there is any interrution on Thursday (November 9), Here is a look at the hourly weather in Bengaluru and the current weather forecast at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium:

It is expected to be a cloudy day with forecast for showers and a thunderstorm later, starting from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM Local Time, but it is expected to remain cloudy with no rain from 4:30 PM to the scheduled close of play, according to Weather.com.

AccuWeather, on the other hand, forecasts thunderstorms only at 3 PM and 6 PM Local Time, meaning there could be a result achieved without a washout. So, let's take a look at the hourly weather updates of Bengaluru:
