ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026: Izzy Sharp, Brooke Halliday Guide New Zealand to Six-Wicket Win Over Scotland

Izzy Sharp’s maiden T20I half-century and Brooke Halliday’s 41 not out lifted New Zealand to a six-wicket win over Scotland at the Bristol County Ground. The White Ferns chased 132 in 18.2 overs, while Scotland’s hopes of a first World Cup semi-final ended with their third defeat.

Darcey Carter made an unbeaten 72 and Kathryn Bryce took two for 13, but Scotland could not build on those efforts. New Zealand, who won the toss and fielded first on a hot day, moved to third in the table and stayed in the race for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

Scotland Post 131 For Seven

Carter started well with a cut for four in the first over and reached the boundary often in the early overs. She hit a six off Jess Kerr in the fifth over and later raised her fifty in the 14th over, even as the heat at Bristol began to affect players.

Katherine Fraser fell for seven, while Sarah Bryce made 25 after being dropped on 13. Captain Kathryn Bryce was out for five, and Scotland then lost wickets in a cluster. Amelia Kerr finished with three for 17, and Lea Tahuhu took her 100th T20I wicket as Scotland closed on 131 for seven.

Sharp And Halliday Rebuild The Chase

New Zealand also had a poor start, losing three wickets in the powerplay. Kathryn Bryce removed Amelia Kerr for two and Isabella Gaze for 16, while Rachel Slater bowled Sophie Devine for one. Sharp moved up to number three, and Halliday then settled the innings.

The pair added 101 runs, with their fifty partnership coming off 48 balls in the 13th over. Halliday hit two fours off Rainey after the drinks break, and Sharp reached her fifty before being bowled by Slater for 62. Maddy Green then finished the chase with a boundary.
