Virat Kohli's dominance goes way back in 2008. The current Indian skipper became a teenage sensation after leading India to victory in the under-19 World Cup.

And nine years on, it is a tough ask to keep a tab of the milestones achieved and records broken by the talismanic batsman.

It has been a year of many firsts as the captain dealt with several on and off the field issues to guide the Indian team to many record-breaking performances.

The Delhi-batsman has made 2818 runs in 2017, across all formats, making him third the list of cricketers scoring the maximum runs in a calender year.

Only Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting have scored more runs than the skipper. Capping of a successful year, the skipper tied the knot with long-time girlfriend Anushka Sharma in a fairytale ceremony in Italy.

Kohli scored his sixth double hundred in the final Test against Sri Lanka. All his double tons have been recorded over the last 18 months. In the current year the skipper has scored three double hundreds. His 243 against Sri Lanka is the highest individual score by any Indian captain in Tests.
