Lucknow Super Giants' IPL 2025 campaign came to a disappointing end as they were knocked out following a six-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
While the match was filled with high-octane moments, it was Nicholas Pooran's emotional outburst after his dismissal that stole the spotlight and stirred conversations across social media.

Batting first, LSG posted a formidable total of 205/7, thanks to solid contributions from Mitchell Marsh (65) and Aiden Markram (61). Their strong partnership laid the foundation for what seemed like a defendable total.
However, SRH's response was explosive. Abhishek Sharma tore into the LSG attack with a blistering 59 off just 20 deliveries, while Heinrich Klaasen anchored the chase with a measured 47 off 28 balls to guide Hyderabad home with ease.
The defining moment of the match, however, came in the final over of LSG's innings. Nicholas Pooran, who had been playing a crucial knock, was run out for 45 from 26 balls while attempting a quick single to retain strike.
Visibly dejected, Pooran trudged back to the dressing room and was later caught on camera throwing his gloves in frustration after Abdul Samad was dismissed on the penultimate delivery. The video of the visibly upset West Indian cricketer quickly gained traction online, capturing the intensity of the moment.
Despite the heartbreak, Pooran had an outstanding season with the bat. He scored 455 runs in 12 games-the highest by any LSG player this year-and was a consistent performer in an otherwise underwhelming campaign for the team.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant, the most expensive player in IPL history at ₹27 crore, failed to make an impact once again. Promoted to No. 3 against SRH, Pant managed only 7 runs off 6 balls, continuing a lean patch that saw him finish with just 135 runs from 12 matches at a strike rate of 100. The LSG captain have failed to live up to his mark this season.
