No funds for state associations until BCCI implements Lodha panel reforms: SC

New Delhi, Oct 7: The Supreme Court today (October 7) ordered the 12 state associations to freeze the money paid to them by the BCCI after the September 30th meeting.

The Supreme Court said that the money cannot be utilised unless and until the BCCI decides to implement the Lodha panel reforms.

Further the Supreme Court also said that the BCCI cannot release any funds to the state associations until they pass a resolution and accept the Lodha Panel reforms.

Further, the Supreme Court also directed BCCI chief, Anurag Thakur to file an affidavit whether he asked ICC to say implementation of SC orders would lead to BCCI disqualification.

The BCCI said today that it was not planning to run away from reforms. However, there are certain technical and legal issues which it will address.

The Apex Court has posted the matter to October 17. On Thursday (October 6), the Supreme Court had come down heavily on the BCCI and told it to stop wasting time.

While directing the BCCI to implement the reforms suggested by the RM Lodha Committee, the court said shape up or ship out.

Give us an undertaking or we will pass orders, a Bench headed by the Chief Justice of India said on Thursday.
