No senior-junior disparity in team selection, says Kumble

By Staff

Chennai, Mar 22 (UNI) Captain of Indian cricket team Anil Kumble today shot down any differences of opinion over preference to juniors or seniors while picking the team.

Answering questions on this subject especially about ODI captain M S Dhoni's comments on the ommission of seniors for the ODI matches, Kumble said ''there is no such preference for seniors or juniors as being made out.'' ''It's all in the media and too much is being read into this, Kumble said, adding whether senior or junior we all have specific roles to perform.'' Kumble said ''Each player is committed to play his role.'' He added that said the team has been jelling well especially in the last one year.

''There is nothing like seniors or juniors just as we don't see whether it is from a senior journalist or a junior journalist whenever you ask us a question.'' Asked if the team was missing Lalchand Rajput who was the coach till recently before Kirsten took over, Kumble merely said ''it is the BCCI's decision.'' UNI VV-SNR AJ RAR BD2035
