No window for IPL in ICC calendar till 2012: BCCI

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 20 (UNI) With the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) threatening to dominate the world cricketing calendar, the BCCI has reiterated its commitment to international cricket insisting that it was not requesting a window for the tournament to be made before 2012.

''The Members were pleased to receive very clear and unconditional commitment from the BCCI that international matches would be given absolute priority over IPL commitments,'' ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed said. ''There has been plenty of speculation about the impact that IPL will have on the world game.'' ''The other ICC members are supportive of the BCCI and will carefully evaluate the first year of the IPL and its wider impact on the game in other parts of the world,'' he added.

The representatives of the 10 Test-playing nations also reiterated that they would not recognise rebel tournaments such as the Indian Cricket League (ICL).
