Noman Ali Scripts History Against West Indies, Becomes First Pakistani To Achieve Huge World Record

In a scintillating display of spin bowling, Noman Ali etched his name in the history books by becoming the first Pakistan spinner to claim a hat-trick in Test cricket.

The remarkable feat came on Saturday during the 2nd Test against West Indies, as Pakistan's bowlers dismantled the visitors' batting lineup in the opening session.

West Indies' decision to bat first backfired as their innings unraveled spectacularly, with seven wickets tumbling within the first 12 overs of play. Opening the batting, Kraigg Brathwaite and debutant Michael Lewis struggled to provide stability at the top of the order. Lewis fell for just eight runs, caught behind off Kashif Ali, who struck in his very first over in Test cricket.

Sajid Khan further compounded the visitors' troubles, claiming the wickets of Amir Jango and Alick Athanaze in quick succession. However, the moment of the day belonged to Noman Ali, who showcased his skill and precision to send four West Indian batters back to the pavilion. His hat-trick not only demoralized the opposition but also highlighted Pakistan's dominance on the spinning track. With this record he is only the 5th Pakistan bowler to claim a hat-trick. He has been the pick of the bowlers so far with a staggering economy of just over 2.

Amid the batting collapse, Kavem Hodge stood out as the sole batter to reach double figures, offering a glimmer of resistance. The rest of the lineup, however, crumbled under relentless pressure from Pakistan's bowlers.

At the time of writing this article, the Windies are reeling at 72/8 with the likes of Gudakesh Motie and Kemar Roach at the crease.

Pakistan already lead the series 1-0 in their favour and a win in this Test will help them clinch the series. The Windies will have to buckle up and try to salvage a draw in this 2-match series.
