Not Smriti Mandhana! RCB Women Star credits this India player for their excellent WPL 2024 Start

Royal Challengers Bangalore has made a superb start to their WPL 2024 season. They have won their first two matches and currently placed at the summit of the Points Table.

In their last match, RCB Women registered a comprehensive victory over Gujarat Giants. Smriti Mandhana has led her team and has been garnering a lot of praise.

In both matches, the Bangalore franchise showcased excellent bowling skills. And their overseas star Sophie Molineux credits an India player for their upsurge, which is not Smriti Mandhana.

Sophie Molineux, who took three wickets herself after Renuka's new-ball burst, said that the India pacer Renuka Singh had set the tone for RCB right from the start in both their matches so far.

"Yeah, Renuka has been incredible both games and playing against her for India, she's just so reliable and it's great to be on the same team as her. She swings the ball beautifully at the front and I think she's really set the tone for us in both games. To be able to control the powerplay is a big thing in T20 cricket and she's done that twice now and I can see her continuing to do that," Molineux said.

Renuka Singh picked up just a solitary wicket last season, but has started this one in tremendous fashion. She has the best economy among all bowlers (4 runs per over) and picked up 2 wickets in the last match, earning the Player of the Match Award.

But the challenge gets tougher for RCB from here as they face last year's finalists Delhi Capitals on Thursday (February 29) in their third match of this WPL season.
