Mohammed Azharuddin believes that out of the many star players including Virat Kohli, if Rohit Sharma maintains his current form, India have a strong chance of winning the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. Rohit, who had been struggling for runs across formats, silenced his critics with a stunning century in the second ODI against England in Cuttack.
His 32nd ODI ton came in just 76 balls, featuring 12 boundaries and 7 sixes, helping the Men in Blue secure a four-wicket victory and clinch the series.

Azharuddin, speaking to PTI, expressed his confidence in Rohit and wished him success in the Champions Trophy. He emphasized that the Indian skipper's return to form has come at the perfect time for the team's chances in the marquee event.
"I wish him all the best for the Champions Trophy. If Rohit Sharma clicks in the Champions Trophy, there is no doubt about us winning it. His form has come at the right time," Azharuddin stated.
In addition to his century, Rohit also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most runs as an opener for India across all three formats. Azharuddin lauded Rohit for his perseverance despite his lean patch and congratulated him on achieving the milestone.
"He is a class player. The runs were not coming, but he kept going. I heard he played really well yesterday, and records are meant to be broken. I congratulate him on surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record and wish him all the best for the Champions Trophy," the former captain added.
Rohit's dip in form before the Cuttack ODI had led to debates about his future in international cricket, with some questioning his place in the team and even suggesting retirement. Addressing this, Azharuddin said that the decision to retire is entirely up to Rohit, as he is the best judge of his own game and fitness.
"It's up to Rohit to decide. A player who plays the game knows how intense it is," the 62-year-old concluded.
