India has started off brilliantly in the Test series against Bangladesh. After a stutter in the first session of the first day, India overcame the adversities brilliantly to register a victory by 280 runs.
Shubman Gill has continued his impressive form by scoring his fifth Test century in the first Test against Bangladesh. After a duck in the first innings, the batter came to life in the second innings for the team.

This remarkable knock in the second innings helped Gill surpass the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Mayank Agarwal, all of whom have four Test centuries in the World Test Championship (WTC). Gill now stands second on the list of Indian players with the most WTC centuries.
The top spot is currently held by India's captain, Rohit Sharma, who has scored nine centuries in 33 WTC matches. Gill, who was dismissed for a duck in the first innings, bounced back strongly to guide India to a solid position. The 25-year-old formed a crucial 167-run partnership with Rishabh Pant, who made a brilliant 109 runs from 128 balls in his comeback Test.
Gill's century also marked his second consecutive Test century, having previously reached the milestone against England earlier this year. The 25-year-old also continued his prowess in the 2nd innings of a Test match, which is considerably tougher to bat.
In achieving his fifth Test century, Gill joins an exclusive list of young Indian cricketers who reached the landmark early in their careers. He accomplished this feat at the age of 25 years and 13 days. Other notable players who achieved five centuries at a young age include Sachin Tendulkar (19 years, 282 days), Ravi Shastri (22 years, 218 days), and Rishabh Pant (24 years, 270 days).
Gill is now the 4th youngest Indian to get to the milestone, and is just behind his current team India compatriot Rishabh Pant.
