Novak Djokovic says Virat Kohli should host him in India

Djokovic revealed that discussions about a visit to India are already underway and said he would like Kohli to show him around the country.

"I would love to play some cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future and we have been communicating about it," Djokovic told JioStar.

The Serbian also spoke about Kohli's stature in India and the respect he has for both the batter and Indian cricket.

Novak Djokovic hopes Virat Kohli can improve his cricket technique

Although cricket is not widely played in Serbia, Djokovic said members of his team have helped introduce him to the sport over the years.

He joked that Kohli might have to coach him before they step onto the cricket field together.

"Cricket is not big in Serbia, where I come from. But some of the people in my team are British, and they love cricket. So I have been learning about the game over the last 10 to 15 years."

He added:

"I still need to work on my cricketing skills. Maybe Virat can help me with my technique and bat swing. But seriously, I have great respect and admiration for him. I would love to get the chance to meet him in his home country India."

Novak Djokovic reflects on his Wimbledon legacy

Speaking to JioStar, Djokovic also reflected on what Wimbledon has meant to his career, describing it as the tournament that shaped his legacy.

"A lot of my legacy is built on what I have achieved here at Wimbledon."

The seven-time Wimbledon champion said lifting the trophy at the All England Club had been a childhood dream and remains one of the defining achievements of his career.

"This was the tournament I dreamed of winning as a child. I always wanted to do well here, always wanted to win Wimbledon and become world number one."

Djokovic added that Centre Court continues to bring the best out of his game.

"For some reason, I have always managed to bring out the best tennis of my life on this grass surface, especially on Centre Court."

As he continues his bid for another Wimbledon title, Djokovic said he remains motivated by the opportunity to add another chapter to both his own legacy and the history of the sport.
