NPL 2024 Playoffs: Which Four Teams Qualified For Eliminator And Qualifier of Nepal Premier League Season 1?

Inaugural edition of the Nepal Premier League - NPL 2024 has reached the climax stage as four teams confirmed their spots in the NPL Season 1 playoffs, which is scheduled to be held from December 18 to 21.

Like the other franchise leagues across the world, the top four progressed to the playoffs and will play respective fixtures based on where they finished in the NPL 2024 points table. Four matches will be played in the playoff stages - Eliminator, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2 and then the all important final.

NPL 2024 Playoffs - All You Need To Know

The first and second placed teams face off in the Qualifier 1 which gives them a second shot at making the final even if they lose as they will play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. The Eliminator will see the third and fourth placed teams clash in a direct knockout match.

All the four playoff games will be staged at the same venue where the entire tournament is being scheduled to take place - the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Here is all you need to know about the Nepal Premier League 2024 Playoffs:

Which four teams qualified for the NPL 2024 Playoffs?

Sudurpaschim Royals finished on top of the standings with 12 points from 7 matches, and will hence face second-placed Janakpur Bolts, who finished with 10 points from 7 games, in Qualifier 1 later this week.

Before the top two collide, fourth-placed Karnali Yaks, who edged Kathmandu Gurkhas on Net Run Rate (NRR) to seal the final playoff berth, will face third placed Chitwan Rhinos in the Eliminator. All three teams had finished on eight points, but were separated on Net Run Rate (NRR)

Meanwhile Gurkhas, who settled for fifth spot, joined the likes of Lumbini Lions, Biratnagar Kings and Pokhara Avengers as the four teams to be knocked out of the competition.
