NZ vs SL: 'Qudrat Ka Nizam' trends as Sri Lanka batting collapse almost end Pakistan's semi-finals hopes

NZ vs SL: At the time when the whole of Pakistan was wishing for New Zealand to lose their must-win match against Sri Lanka, the Kane Williamson-led side stunned the islanders by reducing them to 128/9 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, November 9.

A New Zealand defeat would facilitate Pakistan's chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC event. If not a defeat, Pakistan would be hoping that Sri Lanka don't allow New Zealand a massive win which can help them improve their Net Run Rate (NRR).

In that case, Pakistan's big win in their final final league match against England would take them ahead of fourth-placed New Zealand, and make them the fourth and final team to qualify for the semi-finals.

However, New Zealand spoiled Pakistan's part by triggering a Sri Lanka batting collapse. The Kusal Mendis-led side lost half their side for the score of 70 runs in just 9.3 overs. Later, they found themselves reeling at 128/9. Trent Boult picked three wickets, while Lockie Ferguson and Mitchell Santner picked two wickets each.

Watching Pakistan's semi-finals chances going down after New Zealand's dominating performance in Bengaluru, fans started trolling the Babar Azam-led side. 'Qudrat Ka Nizam' was one of the most leading trends on X (formerly known as Twitter).
