Olympic flame leaves for Bangkok after hiccup-free run in city

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) To the relief of security personnel in the national capital, the Beijing Olympic torch left for the airport to catch a flight to Bangkok after a peaceful run along Rajpath here today.

Immediately after the culmination of the ceremonies, the flame was taken in a lantern by the Chinese torch attendants and they started for the airport to board the flight.

''The flame leaves for Bangkok tonight and from there it would go to Kuala Lumpur which hosts the relay on April 21,'' an IOA official told mediapersons.

The timing of the flight, however, has been kept under wraps due to security reasons.
