Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced the appointment of Omkar Salvi as the bowling coach for their men's team ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Currently serving as Mumbai's head coach, Salvi will join RCB after completing his domestic cricket commitments in March 2025.

The 46-year-old has had a transformative year, guiding Mumbai to a historic Ranji Trophy title-its first in eight years-and securing the Irani Cup in the 2023-24 season. Salvi's appointment has sparked excitement among RCB fans, with the franchise officially confirming the news on social media:

"Omkar, who has won the Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, and the IPL in the last 8 months, is excited to join us in time for #IPL2025."

Salvi is no stranger to the IPL. He previously served as an assistant bowling coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and has built a reputation for nurturing fast-bowling talent. His deep understanding of Indian domestic cricket adds to his credentials as an exceptional coach. Mo Bobat, RCB's Director of Cricket, shared his optimism:

Salvi will reunite with Dinesh Karthik, RCB's newly-appointed batting coach and mentor, with whom he worked during their time at KKR. The franchise hopes the duo will play a pivotal role in helping RCB finally secure their maiden IPL title.

In addition to his domestic achievements, Salvi's playing career saw him represent Railways in one List A match. Despite limited on-field exposure, his coaching journey has been extraordinary, characterized by consistent success and meticulous preparation.

RCB, known for its bold #PlayBold philosophy, has retained star players Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah on November 24-25.
