The current cycle of the ICC World Test Championship is at its flag end at the moment. With all the countries already have played the majority of games, the final few matches are on their way.
And International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed on Wednesday (February 8) that the second edition of the WTC Final will be taking place between June 7 to June 11. The Final will be played at the Oval in England.
The ICC WTC final will be played between the top two teams of the current WTC cycle table, and Australia and India currently occupy those positions. With the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the scenario of the WTC table can take a tweak in the final lap with potential finalists rallying behind the duo.
Australia currently occupy the number one position in the table, with 75.56 pc points per game. The Indian side are second as they have 58.93 pc points per game. The upcoming series will be their last assignment in this current cycle of the WTC.

Sri Lanka (53.33 pc) sit third in the table and South Africa (48.72 pc) sit fourth, as both have an outside chance to make it to the final in June. The Lankans will play New Zealand in a two-match Test series, while the Proteas will lock horns against the West Indies in another two-match series.
The previous final of the WTC was played in 2021 when India took on New Zealand at the Lords. The Blackcaps won the match by 8 wickets as all-rounder Kyle Jamieson was awarded player of the match.
