Oz may call up David Hussey to replace Clarke

By Staff

Adelaide, Feb 16 (UNI) Michael Hussey's younger brother David is all set to make his debut when Australia face India in their CB Series clash here tomorrow.

He is expected to replace Michael Clarke, who was struck in the ribs during their 63-run win over Sri Lanka at Perth.

''I'm really excited but it hasn't really sunk in yet,'' Hussey said. ''Probably when I get on the plane it will sink in.'' ''I wasn't expecting it. I was looking forward to batting by lunchtime tomorrow for the Vics and hopefully put on 400 and defending them on the last day and bowling them out,'' he added.

''But I really want to dip my feet into international cricket and play some more, so this is a great opportunity.'' Hussey played alongside his elder brother in the Twenty20 match against India, and has already earmarked the spot he wants in the batting order if regular number four Clarke is ruled out.

''Just as long as I bat ahead of Mike I will be very, very happy. I bat four for Victoria so I'd like to bat there,' he said. ''But it doesn't matter where I bat as long as I get a game.'' UNI XC AB RAR KP1935
