Bangladesh Falters After a Promising Start

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bangladesh had a shaky start, losing early wickets under the relentless pressure of Pakistan’s bowlers. Tanzid Hasan fell for just 6, castled by a searing delivery from Ali Raza. While Soumya Sarkar (35 off 38) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (44 off 53) attempted to steady the innings, wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.

Usama Mir turned out to be the game-changer, dismantling Bangladesh’s middle order with his precise leg-spin. The experienced Mushfiqur Rahim (7 off 14) and Towhid Hridoy (19 off 33) struggled to rotate the strike, falling to Usama’s guile. The lower order offered little resistance, with Nasum Ahmed (15 off 16) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (14 off 27) providing some late runs before the innings folded at 202 in 38.2 overs.

For Pakistan, Usama Mir was the standout bowler, claiming 3/33 in 10 overs. Muhammad Musa chipped in with 2/32, while Ali Raza, Mubasir Khan, and Sufiyan Muqeem picked up a wicket each.

Mohammad Haris and Mubasir Khan Steer Pakistan to Victory

Chasing a modest target of 203, Pakistan Shaheens got off to a watchful start. Sahibzada Farhan (23 off 29) and Azan Awais (31 off 45) built a steady foundation, ensuring there were no early hiccups. However, Bangladesh managed to pick up a few wickets, with Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz removing Farhan and Omair Yousuf (1 off 8) cheaply.

With the score at 69/3, captain Mohammad Haris took charge and played a scintillating innings. His 76 off 73 balls, laced with 7 fours and 3 sixes, turned the match in Pakistan’s favor. Haris was well supported by Mubasir Khan, who played an attacking knock of 63 off 54 balls, smashing 6 fours and 3 sixes to accelerate the chase.

The duo’s unbeaten 137-run partnership ensured that Pakistan Shaheens reached the target comfortably in just 34.5 overs, sealing a dominant victory with plenty of time to spare.

Bangladesh\'s Bowling Struggles

Bangladesh’s bowlers found little success on a batting-friendly Dubai surface. Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman failed to make early inroads, while Nasum Ahmed (0/56 in 5.5 overs) endured a forgettable outing. Despite some disciplined spells from Mehidy Hasan Miraz (1/19) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (1/15), Bangladesh lacked penetration, allowing Pakistan’s batters to dictate terms.
