PAK vs BAN: A day after Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned as Pakistan's chief selector over conflict of interest allegations, his nephew Imam-ul-Haq was dropped from the playing eleven for the match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, October 31.
On Monday, former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq stepped down from his post as the chief selector for the Pakistan cricket team over allegations that he was also a shareholder in a prominent player management company.

The development came amid Pakistan's horror run at the ongoing World Cup 2023. After winning their first two matches, the Babar Azam-led side lost four matches in a row. Reports of rifts between the players and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have also been reported.
Pakistan took the field against Bangladesh with an aim to end their losing streak in the ongoing ICC marquee event. They are currently occupying the seventh spot in the 10-team table. They also lost to Afghanistan by eight wickets in Chennai.
Out-of-form Imam-ul-Haq was dropped from the Pakistan playing eleven and was replaced by experienced southpaw Fakhar Zaman. The right-hand batter registered scores of 15, 12, 36, 70, 17 and 12 in his six outings in the World Cup 2023.
Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz were also dropped and replaced by Agha Salman and Usama Mir. Bangladesh have opted to bat first in the match. Their scorecard read 149/6 in 34 overs at the time this story was published.
