PAK vs BAN: Saud Shakeel continued his glorious run in Test cricket with a third hundred which came on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. The hundred has helped him equal a 65-year-old Pakistan record.
Saud Shakeel became the joint-fastest Pakistan batter to score 1000 Test runs, equalling Saeed Ahmed's feat in 20 innings. Ahmed held the record since 1959.

Sadiq Mohammad is the third fastest Pakistan batter to 1000 Test runs. He achieved the feat in his 22nd innings. Legendary Javed Miandad is fourth on the list with 23 innings. England's Herbert Sutcliffe and West Indies' Everton Weekes hold the all-time record. They completed 1000 Test runs in just 12 innings each.
Saud Shakeel scored 141 runs off 261 balls in the first innings, and stitched a 240-run partnership with Mohammed Rizwan for the fifth wicket. The Pakistan vice-captain came to bat when Pakistan were reduced to 16/3. His innings and the partnership helped Pakistan declare their innings at 448/6. Rizwan scored unbeaten 171 runs.
Further, Saud Shakeel now has the second best batting average among active players with minimum 10 Test innings. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal holds the top spot with an average of 68.53. The youngster brought up his 1000 Test runs in just 16 innings - only two innings more than Vinod Kambli, who led the list of fastest Indian batters to 1000 Test runs.
