By MyKhel Staff

PAK vs BAN: Pakistan captain Shan Masood was left fuming after being controversially given out in the first innings of the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. He was spotted venting his anger in the dressing room after watching the replays of the decision.

The incident happened in the seventh over of the match after Bangladesh opted to bowl first. A delivery from Shoriful Islam, nipped back in a little as the southpaw stretched forward his front leg to defend.

As the ball passed through the bat and pad and landed into the gloves of wicket-keeper Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh made a strong appeal for a caught behind dismissal. Umpire Adrian Holdstock did not look impressed, forcing captain Najmul Hossain Shanto to take a review.

The third umpire overturned the decision after finding a spike on the UltraEdge. Masood, who scored six off 11, was left fuming after the decision, and was spotted giving an animated reaction after watching the replays of his dismissal in the dressing room.

Masood believed that the ball hit the front pad after passing the bat. Eagle-eyed viewers also backed the belief of the Pakistan captain through their social media posts, and called out third umpire Michael Gough for his controversial decision.

Talking about the match, Pakistan were reduced to 14/2 after Shan Masood. Former captain Babar Azam was sent back to the pavilion for a three-ball duck, leaving Pakistan reeling at 16/3.

Saud Shakeel and Saim Ayub stitched a 98-run partnership off 139 balls to resurrect Pakistan's innings. Opener Ayub scored 56 runs before getting out to Hasan Mahmud. Later, Mohammad Rizwan joined Shakeel and took Pakistan past 150. At the time of stumps on day one, the hosts were batting on 158/4. Only 41 overs of play were possible on the rain-hit day.
