Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may have reportedly received a slight dent in their hopes to host the Champions Trophy 2025 entirely after Bangladesh has raised concerns about the security in Pakistan ahead of their tour for a 2-Test series later this month.
This development comes after Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the instruction of the Indian government has been reluctant to give the clearance for their players to travel to the neighbouring country due to security concerns.

Earlier, BCCI, which did not allow the Indian team to travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup last year, was reportedly the only board to not confirm their support for Pakistan to host the ICC Champions Trophy next year.
However, fresh reports suggest that Bangladesh also have concerns over the security and safety of their players ahead of their tour to Pakistan. Bangladesh is scheduled to play 2 Tests, starting at Rawalpindi (21-25 August) and Karachi (30 August-3 September).
But before the team could travel to Pakistan on August 17, a report from CricBuzz reveals the Bangladesh government has received a request from the country's cricket board to provide a security consultant for their upcoming tour of Pakistan.
"We are also very much concerned about the security; but after knowing everything and after getting assurance from them regarding the security, we have fixed the tour," said Jalal Yunus, Bangladesh Cricket Board's cricket operation chairman, while talking to reporters.
"At the same time, we have requested the government to give us a security consultant during the tour who will maintain communication with them at all times regarding the security issues," he added.
While there has been a request for a security consultant before the tour, Jalal added that none of the Bangladesh players have been against travelling to Pakistan.
"I guess you have seen in the Asia Cup that the Bangladesh team traveled to Pakistan and they provided us state-level security and we agreed to go on this tour because they ensured us of that," said Jalal.
"You might have seen in recent times that some international teams have also visited (Pakistan) and they are quite happy with the security they provided."
