Pakistan created several unwanted records after being handed an innings and 47-run defeat by England in the first of the three-Test series at the Multan Cricket Ground in Multan on Friday (October 11).
After a trio of centuries helped Pakistan set a first innings total of 556, the visiting England side responded by posting the fourth highest score in an innings - 823/7, riding on Joe Root's double ton and Harry Brook's triple ton.

The hosts then fell for 220 after spinner Jack Leach claimed the final three wickets on the final day as a Test many would have believed to be headed for a draw finished with an England win.
This marked the first time a team lost a Test by an innings despite scoring over 500 in the first innings. That was one of many records rather unwanted created by the home side Pakistan in Multan. Here is a look at some of the unwanted records set by Pakistan:
This defeat was the sixth on the trot for Pakistan in the World Test Championship cycle. The white-wash at home against Bangladesh was one to forget, but the manner of defeat to England will deepen their scar even further.
Shan Masood's side will hope to bounce back and put an end to this slide when they host England in the second Test at the same venue in Multan from Tuesday (October 15).
