PAK vs IRE: Shaheen Afridi rocked Ireland top-order after taking wickets in the first over of the match in Florida on Sunday, June 16. However, the star left-arm was still trolled by fans.

Pakistan failed to qualify for the Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024 after USA's match against Ireland was abandoned due to rain on Friday. Pakistan's last match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland is therefore a dead-rubber.

After Pakistan opted to bat first, Shaheen Afridi first cleaned the stumps of Andrew Balbirnie on the third ball of the first over. On the fifth delivery of the same over, Lorcan Tucker edged an out-swinging delivery into the hands of wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Mohammad Amir picked a wicket in the second over before Afridi returned to dismiss Harry Tector for a six-ball duck on the final delivery of the third over. The full length delivery hit the back leg of Tucker and him not taking a review did not help him further.

Despite the world-class bowling with the new ball, Shaheen Was brutally trolled by the fans. Much of it had to do with Shaheen's struggle to get wickets in the previous three matches of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The former Pakistan captain failed to pick any wicket against USA as the Men in Green lost the match. He picked one wicket each against India and Canada. Mocking Shaheen Afridi, a fan said the 24-year-old has learnt the art of taking first-over wickets from India left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who registered figures of 4/9 in his last outing against USA.
