Teja Nidamanuru's family is in attendance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as Netherlands are taking on Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday (October 6).
Teja Nidamanuru, the 29-year-old Netherlands player, was born in Vijaywada, a city in Andhra Pradesh, which is around 270 kms away south-east of the Uppal Stadium. Teja was born and then moved to the New Zealand at the age of six years as his mother took up a job in Auckland.

And as he makes a homecoming, many people from his family have arrived at the stadium. His grandmother, mother all have come to see their young boy taking centre stage, albeit in the Orange of Netherlands.
The family members were captured by MyKhel showing their support for Teja. The handmade placards showing all the love for the Dutch cricketer from his family, as the members covered themselves in the Orange of the Netherlands side.
'We support Netherlands Cricket Team,' one poster wrote. 'All the very best to Netherlands team. We are proud of Teja,' wrote another.
Teja recently opened up about how his grandfather became an inspiration in his cricketing journey. The player said how he grew up with his grandparents in Vijaywada. Although his grnadfather passed away five years ago, the Dutch international believes his affection and blessing is still with him.
"I grew up with my grandparents in Vijayawada. My mom was quite young, my dad used to work in a government job and he used to get posted everywhere.
"My grandfather started my cricketing journey when I was very young. He was the one who bought me my first cricket gear, my first pair of gloves. I was the first grandchild of the family, and maybe there was more love and affection and getting away. I never sat still. He always rolled the ball to me and said 'go and play'. Unfortunately, he passed away five years ago. But it would've been pretty special to have him see me, but his wishes are with me," Teja said in an interview to Cricbuzz.
And on the day, there was mention of hs grandfather in one of those family posters.
The 29-year-old is playing his first World Cup match, and has already played 21 ODIs for Netherlands. He has scored 501 runs so far at an average of 29.5. The destructive batter will be required by Netherlands today as they look set to chase a decent total.
