Shaheen Afridi, you beauty. Full and swinging in. Too hot to handle for Nepal captain Rohit Paudel who is trapped in front of the stumps and departs for a golden duck. NEP: 10/2 in 1 over.
This is a very good habit Shaheen has developed. Wicket on the fifth deliver for the left-arm pacer. Bhurtel goes after smashing boundaries on the first and second balls of the Nepal innings. This one was drifting down the leg. the batter tried to work it fine but ends up giving a simple catch to Rizwan. NEP: 10/1 in 0.5 over.

Babar departs with two balls left in the innings. 151 off 131. Caught in deep by Jora. First wicket for Sompal after going for over 80 runs. A standing ovation for Babar as he walks out of the middle.
A 67-ball hundred for Iftikhar Ahmed. Slow ball outside off and he guides it through the right of short third-man for a four. Sensational stuff from Iftikhar. 10 fours and four sixes for him as of now.
Thats a maiden ODI Century from Iftikhar Ahmed, what a moment to get it ♥️🇵🇰#PAKvNEP #AsiaCup23 #BabarAzam pic.twitter.com/O1Roe5prL2

A four and then a six over long-off takes Iftikhar to 97 off 66. What a knock from the right-hander. Just three short of maiden hundred. The partnership between Babar and Iftikhar is 206 off 126 now.
Second 150 score for Babar Azam in ODI cricket. Works it on the leg side for a single. 150 off 129 balls. Partnership bewtween him and Iftikhar goes pat 190. PAK: 313/8 in 48 overs.
Whacked over long-off for a six. Iftikhar 82 off 59. Can he complete his maiden ODI hundred here? A slower delivery which Iftikhar was quick to read and dispatch over long-off.
PAK" 301/4 in 47 overs. A top-edge goes flying over the wicket-keeper for a boundary. Frustration for Nepal continues. Babar Azam one short off 150.
Inside out off Lamichanne for a six on the third ball of the 46th over and then another one-handed six in the backward square leg region. Lamichanne leaks 19 runs in his final over. PAK: 294/4 in 46 overs.

Short and slow from Gulshan, Babar Azam is early into his shot but goes through the pull, one-hand six in the end.
100 off 109 for Babar. 19th ODI hundred. A true captain's knock. Short and wide from Dipendra and Babar cuts behind square for a double. Thanks the almighty and acknowledges the crowd cheer by opening his helmet and showing his bat towards them and the Pakistan dressing room where his teammates can't stop clapping and applauding.
50 off 43 for Iftikhar. A solid knock from the right-hander and it's a great news for Pakistan. They were looking shaky in the middle-order department. Iftikhar in form makes their middle-order solid.
Babar Azam just three away from 19th ODI hundred and first of the Asia Cup 2023. PAK: 208/4 in 39 overs. Partnership between Babar and Iftikhar standing tall at 84 off 67.
Lamichhane bowls three solid deliveries to Babar before Iftikhar smashes him for a four over long-on on the fourth. A shortish delivery as Iftikhar rolled back and lifted it towards the long-off boundary. 200 runs up for Pakistan in 38 overs. Babar Azam: 95* off 101
Extra bounce for Lamichhane but Babar hangs on the back foot and plays it really late to the right of first slip to a boundary. Babar 89* off 95 after the end of 36 overs.
56-run partnership off 43 balls between Babar and Iftikhar. They are looking to hurt Nepal now. Pakistan: 180/4 in 25 overs.

Both Pakistan and Nepal have never met each other in an ODI setting before this day and the visitors will be looking to play some good cricket to make an impact and get to a bright start in the multi-nation tournament.
Pakistan - who are ranked number one in the latest ODI Rankings after whitewashing neighbours Afghanistan - head into the competition as one of the favourites. The Babar Azam-led side did exceedingly well in all departments against Afghanistan to win the three-match ODI series, played in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan are well aware of the pitch and conditions in Multan and the Men in Green will be looking to start the competition with a big win over tournament debutants. The bowling of Pakistan looks most threatening in the continental showpiece which makes them a team to beat.
